Behringer 1C Studio with ART SLA 2 Amp "studio amp"

PMC told me this amp go with the tb2s's, Bryston 2.5B SST2

I just loop 4 bar kick and see the difference at same volume level.

Please don't suspend palm, he's a cool guy and just maybe might help.

can you do a better jon than ran when it comes to calibrating the monitors?

Juan, you really do not have the decision making capability nor the training in terms of hearing to match your available funds.

Understand, neither Palm or I are saying this stuff to be mean, but anyone who thinks Behringer 5" Monitors (and bear in mind, I'm a fan of the Truths) sound better than PMC's or Focals then you don't know what you're hearing.

Again, this isn't an insult and I'm all for personal preference (i.e. some people like the way a certain set sound) but you're comparing Apples to Lamborghinis. The behringers aren't even in the same galaxy as the Focals, let alone the PMCs

Palm is right; when you get in to amp matching it's a whole different ballgame. Everything from Ohmage curves to response times to crossover points make a difference, and if you don't know what you're hearing or even truly like, it's a utter quagmire.

I've used PMC's extensively with Classe amps and they sounded superb but they take getting used to, there's a bed in time and they don't sound "nice" or hifi - they sound flat and detailed. The amps take 30 mins to 60 mins to actually heat up and give the true benefits of class A circuitry (but you knew that right?) so really I think you're on a fool's errand.

Also, if you like the Behringer's and they work for you, just stick with them. I know guys that have the option to use any monitors they want but choose things like basic Dynaudios or Gene's because they know how to work with them.

wasting your time with fancy monitors and calibrations if you dont treat your room, looks like your not short of a few bob so why dont you just get it done? The difference is clear to be heard, its not like trying to hear the difference between cable brands etc...its obviously better for bass response

in short, you should be gassing for room treatment

i posted in the other thread that ill probably pick up an Arturia Beatstep Pro whenever they come out, try and get some better drum programming going

Yeah Rann thats why i ordered the Events 20/20's. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing. I just pissed me off and shocked me at the same time. I have been missing out all this time. If the events are as dull as the PMC's not hard and warm sounding like the behringers than shiitt i guess idk what will i do/

I def know what your saying, the PMC are def in another universe and you need black hole to enter its competition.

I never heard my kicks so full like in the behringers 1c's

I'm gonna trust my ears than what I see on led screen this time around, I can always return and get my money back. Its not like I'm stepping into a pit.

Your tracks are already sounding super warm. I can't even imagine the level of warmth you'll get with the new setup. Magnificent.

Go for it.

I can;t understand what you're saying. You liked the Behringer so much that you bought Event 20/20? Wat?

You keep mentioning Hard and Warm. Aside from the homoerotic overtones and obvious sexual orientation struggle you're going through, what do you mean?

I think you mean that you prefer the way a $79 speaker sounds more than a $4000 speaker. If that's the case, stop making dumb purchases because all you're learning is that you're not ready to appreciate or hear the difference.

Evo is spot on. You're not going to hear that differnce anyway unless you treat your room. You've been buying shit like $1000 silver power cables and considering $1500 firewire leads when you woulnd;t not even be able to tell the difference anyway.

you want to know one of the reasons you think the Behringers sound better?

Because in small untreated rooms, small basic speakers often sound better. That's why you think the better monitors don't sound right. It's like going to the grocery store in a Aston martin then blaming the car for not having enough trunk space to fit your groceries in. It aint the cars fault.

I can;t wait until you actually take the advice of 3+ years and treat your room; we'll get to go through this monitor selection process all over again

Right, we'll see when the 20/20's come. For now the behringers will def stay on the stands. M kay?

They will be here in 2 days so lets keep this thread active now, so else getting new stuff?

The pmcs are just 1inc bigger than the behringers FYI

I had a fully room treated before i moved my studio to my bedroom and i also heard setups at guitar center with the treated special rooms and it doesn't have what i'm looking for.

Edit: this must be wrecking your nerves now, lol such fun.

And don't insult me again.
