i sorta hate doing this, i've had better luck just using one voice and rolling off the side, it's easier and I'm lazy. If you're using ableton this is a pretty great technique, Purely a judgement call like all your questions

use a tool called ddmf metaplugin which will allow you to save those chains. WOrks in any daw and you can use thhose presets in any daw. It is also just a good habit of keeping fx chains encapsulated.

1. No
2. No
3. I would suggest doing so. The reason for this is because you don't want your bass to clash too much and make the whole thing sound "too bassy"; I'd link the mid to a separate channel and use an equalizer to take out the deeper sounds.
4. Again, equalizers are your friend. If you want a rounded, punchy kick, I'd recommend boosting the kick in between 100-200hz, this will definitely give your kick a bit of oomph. Just fuck around with it until it sounds right.
As far as Catbread by Deadmau5 goes, the kick sounds the opposite of heavy and powerful to me, as it hasn't got much bass behind it. If you want to make something like that, I'd say boost 100-200hz and completely cut the 0-50hz...though again, just fuck with it until it sounds right.
