Oh, and let's not forget that if you release a NetCD there they'll own the rights to your tunes forever - you cannot delete them.

Guys, I know some of you already have experience in writing Trance, I wish you all the best and I know you have talent.

I'm just saying, don't you find it ironic that when one of a zillion obscure Trance records comes out -- obscure, but professional enough to be released on vinyl! -- chances are that the author of that obscure record never posted on mp3.com? And if he had posted, then his name would have become associated with "mp3.com", and -- paradoxically -- the chances of his track being released, trimmed down to zero?

I feel, for some strange reason, that posting on MP3.com dooms you to an amateurish career. I can't explain it, but I do feel this way! If I were to give advice to a beginner, I'd say: Avoid that site...

Some of you mentioned Yahel. Yahel does not sound professional to me. Nor does PPK. Nor Trance[]Control. They're all amateurs...

Astral Projection has been producing way before mp3.com even existed, so to call them an MP3 artist is wrong. As for Yahel, if you think his sound isn't proffesional then you better clean out your ears.

Yahel's productions are relatively amateurish. They just don't have that sound, that professional stamp. I know many people will agree with me.

Uhm, maybe some of his older stuff, but his new stuff definately has a professional sound. Accadia - Blind visions (Yahel remix) for instance

What is a proffesional sound? Something that sounds good enough for release? Yahel has released loads hasn't he? Wouldn't he have a proffesional sound then?

I think Yahel makes excellent tracks

so you are an authority on production now

this is what is sad with our scene...
i see it everyday... people i used to connect with and consider friends, all of a sudden they get a break and they forget who they are and where they came from...

all of a sudden it's like "supa star dj/producer"
"i don't want to be associated with you, you're too amaturish and half assed."

so what eugene... you all of a sudden got good and got a nice break?
why the attitude towards someone trying to develop a sound?

we're not all perfect right out of the gate... sometimes it takes years to develop a sound
and for a few lucky people, it just all of a sudden comes naturally

i know that i will NEVER forget who i am and where i came from, as well as who helped me get there

Wow, DJ Shockwav, really harsh words and accusations about something I didn't even want to portray as 'breaking away' or being arrogant in any way, I'm not even a producer, and not even a DJ!

You misunderstood my post and I'm very sorry about that. At no point did I ever say anything about our TAs who post on MP3.com, I was referring to the site itself and the process that it entails.

I said it on the last page, I'll say it again: There are many talented producers among TAs (I am not a producer), I'm just afraid that they will "stagnate" if they don't move on. MP3.com, in my mind, is exactly what may cause that stagnation.

i'm sorry too
you posts just seemed as though you were looking down upon people who use mp3.com

i was just fed up with people thinking they were "holier than thou" type of thing

i've had bad experiences with guys that have all of a sudden gotten a good break and just start ignoring me cause i don't have a residency or anything like that and they do
and they develop that whole "supa star dj" image
they totally forget who their friends are and shit on the people that helped get them there

Hell, I hate those motherfu*kers too, I really hate arrogant people!
I, too, will never forget my "roots" -- if I ever achieve success.
Once again: No arrogance was ever implied -- only respect to my fellow TAs!

My point was that for many people MP3.com offers nothing but a self-fulfilling prophecy of amateurishness.

I once again disagree with that. His older stuff sounds as proffesional as his newer stuff, it's just that his style changed. His older stuff was typical goa and sounds good as just that, goa.

Just because it doesn't sound like a Ferry Corsten or Armin production doesn't make it any less proffesional, or the fact that you may not like the genre under which he produces.
