I can add two subs to my Denon so 7.2 or 9.2 with an additional amp. Double .1

I listen to most of my music on a Ferguson Hill FH007/FH008 setup.

Scored this on sale back in 2009 and besides looking cool they sound amazing.

I've got some lame Sanyo box I found at Goodwill, it has a phono preamp so that's all that mattered. 4 speakers, 2 Sony SS-D201. I like them. The other two are Panasonic Turbo Thrusters from, you guessed it, Goodwill. They're whatever but more sound never hurts. Still looking for a subwoofer. And my turntable is a Marantz. I'm no audiphile tbh. But this setup does the trick, and it cost me near nothing.

more subs doesn't mean more perceived bass. The use of more than one sub is for uniform response over a wider area and not for actual level. The more subs, the more complicated interloping nodes and you might end up with no bass.

I take it you haven't listened to the radio at all in the last year or so.

You know what, goodwill for the win.

I've snagged some incredible hifi kit at goodwill in the past. Sometimes people will donate stereo systems worth several thousand dollars because they just got a new home cinema installed and I've snapped them up for less than a hundred.

The best ones are when someone donates a 70's hifi because they think it looks "old" and goodwill underprice it thinking it's also "old", not realizing it's a audiophile valve amp from the golden age of hifi.

I went to best buy and everything under $1000 is a piece of crap. you're better off going ghetto cheap and buying something around $100 as I did, than buying midrange these days.
