LOL... that is what they were telling u!!!
Why in the world would u bring someone and loose $30,000? answer that to me.... and ON REGULAR BASIS!!!!!
And about red bull and glow.... Roxy can get red bull sponsor the DJ as well, cant they?
Ian, give it up... Owners of Roxy, SF, Exit and Arc are swimming in money and not loosing $30,00 a night on regular basis...
JP made around $200,000 - $300,000 just last nite on SF theme nite.. And he is just a DJ...

8,000 according to the owner. hmm, if there is one person I trust less than the promoters its the numbers the owner tells you. In my 5 years at Avalon, we did over 100 theme nights and had over 75 guest djs, the only time they ever made oney on the guest dj night was if the guy came for less than 20G's. Then the profit was around $1,000. They made about $5,000 for Nick Warren, about $7,500 for Dave Seaman, and lost about $15,000 when Sasha and Oaky came. The next time Oaky came they lost $30,000 because it was raining and no onme came. The profit margin for big name djs, if there is a profit, is very small. You dont bring in guest djs to make the profit usually anyways, you do it when your other nights are struggling and you are trying to make a name for yourself.

Art, its just not worth explaining it to you anymore, because you are choosing to only see it from the patrons point of view. You have never done the books for a club, nor done any sort of club promotion, dj booking, party management, etc... so basically you are just sputtering what you assume to be the norm. Yes, the club owners are swimming in money, but NOT because they bring big name djs in on a regular basis. Also, if you honestly think that JP brings $300,000 profit per night then you have to be the biggest smacked ass on earth. That means that just off jp saturdays Cracktory makes about 15 million in profit per year. Now, im not saying they dont make money with JP, but come on now Art, I know you are smarter than to listen to what they tell you and you are also smart enough to realize that if a club is pulling in 15 million in profit off 1 guy dont you think he would ask for more money?????
