As for shit, NO, or else I wouldn't be here.

But commercial. Depends what you mean by commercial. I would agree and say that in some places, trance is more commercial, as in the meaning of being more publically available. It's all good tho, cos different people are into different areas of trance.

IMO whether or not a certain genre is commercial or not is irrelevant. All that matters is that you like the music. I don't like trance to try and be different. I like trance because of the way it makes me feel.

Umm, well jeez, I guess that depends on if it is commercial Trance that you're talking about. I mean, there's plenty quality Trance out there but, just like with any genre, there's plenty of crappy commercial cheese too. It's just like with real old school Hip Hop- it used to come from the soul but these days MOST of it is made just to get a nigga rich (no offense to anyone). Therefore, it would be an ignorant statement to say that ALL Trance is commercial shit. It's totally legit for someone to say, "I don't like Trance" just like me saying that I don't like Hip Hop. But just because I don't like any Hip Hop, I'm not going to say that it is all commercial crap. I can agree that SOME of it actually has a meaningful message but I still don't listen to it because it's not my style. To get my message across clearly; FU** anyone who says all Trance is commercial.

Well, as far as trance goes in the US it can't be commercial cause nobody fucking knows about it. Trance is about as underground as you can get here.

I assume you're speaking for your state and not your country because here in Atl, Trance is getting pretty damn popular. It's the most popular form of Electronica here.

Im pretty sure house is more popular than trance in the US i know junle is probably the most popular here in toronto.. followed by house... then somewhere comes trance.. besides there arent many good trance producers in the US compared to other genres... that should be a factor in deciding the popularity of the music.. who persues it..

When I said 'here' I was referring to here in Atlanta. When you go to a club here (not a rave), you hear Alice Deejay, Sandstorm, etc. Jungle is getting pretty popular though but it's still not as mainstream as trance.

I can go to a club here and hear stuff like Alice Deejay, Ian Van Dahl, Darude, etc... but I wouldn't take that as a sign of trance getting popular. I see it as catchy Pop-Trance that is getting played on the radio, so people want to hear it in the clubs. Trance may be popular in some areas(Miami, New York, etc...), but it's certainly not a nationwide phenomenon. Now I know Tiesto, Oakenfold and others spin across the US, but if you compare the crowds they draw to the crowds someone like Nelly or Britney Spears draws you'll see that trance has a long way to go in this country. When you can travel to Nebraska and hear Armin, Ferry, or Tiesto on the radio then I'll consider trance to be commercial in the United States. That doesn't mean I won't listen to it anymore.
