Neil deGrasse Tyson is an entertaining guy to listen to but recently he's been putting his foot in his mouth quite frequently. Hard to take him seriously anymore. He's hurt his credibility.

Neil Degrasse Tyson is a pop-science trashbag.

Also, the first time I become interested in space was when I look at the night sky through my night vision goggles.

He's famous for his ability to deliver information that would otherwise be either too complex or not interesting enough to people who wouldn't otherwise seek it out. At a time when most people don't give a fuck about space, including our government, I think it's refreshing to at least have a public figure like him talking about the cosmos in a fun and fascinating way.

Right and I applaud him for that. But he tarnished his integrity when he started inventing facts for the show Cosmos. Google it. He did the same on numerous social media outlets to express his views on environmental issues. If he is such a great scientist, he would not be fabricating informatiom.

Really? It seems like in the modern Age Of Geekery, more people bang on about space than ever before. It's always amazing to me how many will claim to be obsessed with the subject but then don't seem to know things that I thought were fairly common knowledge.

If dumbing down science for idiots floats your boat... I bet you loved when the media dubbed the Higgs Boson as the "God particle"

Yeah when I was at uni I had a group of friends who were studying philosophy that would drone on about quantum mechanics for hours if left unchecked.

Dont think it is fair to label non-science people as idiots.

if you have ever wondered about those news stories of scientist finding earth like planets 100s of lightyears away and thought to yourself or felt any uncertainty about it , this is the video to watch.
