After just getting cheapy chops and some not being great, there was a nice hair salon just step away from my flat in Camden town, and I thought, you know let's give a nice expensive cut a go.
I knew the owner from the area and walked in to book.
Told him I had a job interview that afternoon so only had about an hour tops to which he said that was more than enough. Day comes, get there and he introduces me to this Japanese girl who is going to do my cut. OK.
Her english is a bit broken but seems nice if a little shy/quiet. She washes my hair and it takes 20 full minutes (given that my hair is not even 2 inches long, I'm starting to get a bad feeling).
The she starts cutting with scissors. Fine I think, they don't use clippers in nice places like this. it goes on.
And On.
and fucking on. I look up at the clock and it's been 1 hour 20 minutes since I walked in and she still hasn't touch the other side of my head. The owner guy looks over and I gently give him the WTF? look.
He comes over and tries to discretely get her to speed up. I can tell she's been getting progressively more and more nervous, hands shaking a little bit etc.
This goes on for about 20 mins and she's doing the ear area and then moves on at which point it's now been 1:45 hours and I call the owner over as she's still not done, but I look up in the mirror and realize my shirt shoulder is a big patch of blood.
She's nicked my ear and it's dripping like fuck.
That's it, I tell the owner to get me a towel and he needs to finish the cut. He does so in under 10 mins, cut is fine, but nothing special shirt ruined, I've missed my interview.
......and he says "that will be £65 please".
"are you fucking serious?"
"er, oh nevermind, this one's on us".
I walk out and from that moment on, I've never spent more than $25 on a haircut lol.
