I can't trust em!
I'm saying that because I have a couple of Friends that comes from Arab countries and All of them are lying about things , all the time!!
But I hope that has nothing to do with their backround...but it's strange that all of em act the same way.
They are nice guys...but as I said ,I can't trust em. :/

Most of them suck, but I'm not convinced it's a significantly higher proportion of them than other ethnic groups, so I'll continue to evaluate people on a purely individual basis. Such categorizations may be convenient, but relying on them only impedes your ability to evaluate another person's character most accurately.

when you say most of them suck , are you talking about the arabs you personally know or the arab people generally ?

i never said there wasn't propaganda in the US, but the "propaganda" over here is FARRRR different from the propaganda in the middle east and even the terrorist groups in the far east...

and as far as the US indirectly harming the average citizen of the middle east based on trade restrictions, this is really hairy... you can't fairly say that we just "butted in" and created all these restrictions for no reason... shit's been brewing over there for thousands of years... for some reason, anyone who lives in that area feels compelled to attack another area... with the intention of expanding their "land" or to pillage.... the US does not do this, we don't attack other countries for land or to pilfer... (don't tell any native americans i said that )

I was referring to the ones I know personally, since those are the only ones I can really be sure about. Although I'd say it's likely that you could extrapolate that with a fair degree of accuracy. I wish I wasn't so critical of others, because frankly it's not the best way to make friends, but I have to be honest about the impressions that people give me.

I actually happen to know a lot of muslims and arabs because my roommate freshman year was from Pakistan, and I still regularly hang out with him and and a lot of other arabs at my college. The problem I have with them is that they tend to be pretty judgmental, occasionally even dogmatic. I get along with them by just not arguing with them, because when I do they tend to get very upset, which is another thing that bothers me because I enjoy friendly debate.

In comparison with other ethnic groups, I'd say I tend to like them a little less, but only because I can't identify with them as much. Most of them are well-intentioned people, but a lot of them are very ignorant - a problem that is probably even more profound in their own countries.

I would like them to totally condemn terrorism and I assume MANY of them do not have a positive opinion of the those who would hijack (literally) their faith but there is the typical "brother" syndrome which I understand totally.

hmmm... they are people.

Anybody study Sufism... 90% of Muslim males belong to a sufi order, even if they do not participate in its mystical ways... I consider this to be a very productive and intriguing religious tradition, though i find mainstream islam to be arbitrary and insignificant.

the line above, is the reason I dont believe in hell, I can believe in heaven, gods, etc, cause they're a good thing, but hell is cruel and unusual punishment, and I just dont accept it in my heart. I just dont believe in evil, and I see hell as evil.

The arabs back then were like that too, they burned the original library of alexandria to the ground, and the arab invasion of europe was halted in the middle of France. Few people know about the days of Arab conquests a while after the fall of the Roman empire. Probably cause western culture was nearly destroyed. Why do you think we use Arabic numerals and not the Roman ones? It's a piece of a historical puzzle that most people are not familiar with. I dont know much about it myself.
