I get the gist of what you're saying but no medication even anti depressants cure depression. It be like saying a painkiller cured your arthritis. Just as depression is a loose term people tend to throw around.
More to the point the OP wants to use drugs to hide his problems instead of solve them. But could equal be just a trolling exercise with an element of truth.

What are you talking about sugar is one of the leading causes of health issues in the US. Obesity, diabetes, tooth decay, heart disease to name a few. Btw that is a sweet animated gif.

By all means, IGK, share with us your extensive clinical knowledge of how depression is correctly diagnosed. |
Don't go iboga on me. It's bad enough you sold the family's cow for a handful of magic beans.

I slightly (if not more) regret doing Iboga. If you're depressed/unstable enough that you're contemplating suicide, like I said before - don't start with drugs, start with seeking help.
I'm not a proponent of any "drugs," but I was looking up various clinical trials recently, and apparently they're now doing funded Ketamine trials for Depression. I've also read about Shrooms being used for depression associated with terminal illness years back in the New York Times.
Just seek help...don't be like me (and many others) and start self-medicating. More than likely, it's not a good idea and may only make you worse in the end.
Also, I hope everyone is aware that feeling depressed and having clinical Depression are two completely different things. Based on my own experience, I do believe that all mental illness may be a kind of chemical imbalance in the brain.
Whereas one who doesn't suffer from mental illness generally has control over his or her moods (and brain and thinking), one who does have a mental illness, doesn't have that control - certainly not to the same extent. It's basically like your brain has turned against you, and you have to fight your own mind just to survive.
I wouldn't wish mental illness upon my worst enemy - believe me, feeling "jaded" and bored with life is much better than having a mental illness. And I know that we tend to take life for granted when we are normally-functioning jaded (or not) individuals. When your "brain is sick," as my previous psychiatrist called it, you really get another perspective of ordinary, workaday life, and would do anything just to experience it again.

Alpha I would never had thought you be the voice of reason. Btw, I respect anyone who can admit they made a mistake. Good post.
