Long weekend here, woo! And another long weekend next week as well. Not a great deal planned, other than some hiking. Might go to a barbecue tomorrow with some friends, and about to head out for some breakfast and grocery shopping just now. EXCITING.

Arrived in Bacalar, Mexico, a few hours ago.

Drinking beers now and about to go sleep in a tent on the edge of a lagoon.

Life isn't so bad.

Nice. I take it you've started your big backpacking trip then? I thought you were headed to Europe?

Yea...finally!!!

I actually had a ticket for that Guy J gig in Montreal but sold it. Was gonna start there and head eastward, but I followed a new friend into Central America. Just winging it down here now. Can't beat cheap Mexican food and beers. So far, so great.

That Guy J night should be super special, though. Still kind of gutted I won't be there.

Don't sweat it, you'll gave plenty of wicked gigs to attend when you hit EU.

I particularly like the "I followed a new friend into Central America" part of this post. Trust me mate, this is the best way to go backpacking. Sure, you'll have some solid plans on places you want to check out, but go with the flow and the good people that you meet as much as you can, it's great. I did this for nearly 3 years... what seems like half a lifetime ago now... and it was the best. The absolute best

Oh no, I believe in making money and saving for the future, just not in working like a dog for it.
