We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

Correct me if I'm wrong but
Isn't Jurgen Vries = Darren Tate. As far as I know until 2 weeks ago the opera song was unsigned, Graham Gold has a CD-R of it and has been playing it quite a bit on his Monday night show.
Ok track, but lacks punch imho.

Yes it is Darren Tate. The track was originally an unknown artist, then became Alphaland, but for obvious reasons Mr Tate decided to use his Jurgen Vries pseudonym for this track i.e. it might sell more copies!
Its certainly not a cheesey track, but not as good as all the hype that surrounded it when Jules first started playing it.
Think the promos have just come out.

Maybe you're right about it not being the best. However I've seen it played out and it simply was the biggest track of the night...
