You definitely should. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Saves a lot of money and it's a perfect way to turn the dead time of your commute into something productive. You also get to feel like a smug bastard environmentally, and whenever you sail past gridlocked traffic.

It had been at least 10 years since I'd sat on a bike when I got mine, and while I hadn't forgotten, I certainly wasn't confident on it at first. I was unsure of myself spatially when passing between bollards or other narrow gaps, and my balance when riding with one hand had become a bit wonky. Riding it for 50 minutes every day quickly smoothed all that out, though.

I'd ride a bike if this city had good bike lanes but they're fairly mediocre compared to bike cities like Amsterdam and drivers here are ridicously aggressive. Pretty much everyone I know that rides a bike daily has semi-regular stories of almost getting killed or seriously injured. Fuck that.

For the love of your crotch, put a good saddle on that bike!

It only got up to 72f (22c) today, kinda brisk!

I've worked out a route through the city centre that keeps me largely on back roads, pedestrianised areas and the odd footpath. I get the occasional sanctimonious pedestrian tell me I should be on the road, but I'd rather irritate them than mingle with heavy traffic. Leeds is also built around a ludicrous one-way system that means traffic can only circulate through the centre in a giant loop. There's no way I'm going to obey that system on a bike doing 10mph.

I know people have different saddle preferences but this is a pretty standard road bike saddle.

Does it have a cutout I am missing...those make a saddle so good. But I guess each taint is different, if it works it works!

Haha, dank je, I'm glad you liked it

I was a bit self-conscious with this one because I don't think I've ever heard a liquid funk track with cellos in it, but I like how this one flows. By the way, if you have any feedback, I'm all ears, and I'm probably going to upload a few more tracks in the near future if you want to check the rest of the batch!

I agree with Jack - if you can, and it doesn't put you in danger, do cycle to work!

I did it for six months, back in 2016, and it was great. It was all downhill on my way to work, so I didn't arrive drenched in sweat or anything, and I had to do the hard work on my way back or I'd stay put, so it was the best cardio I could've hoped for

Although I can relate to what Woony said because of the occasional aggressive driver here in Brasília, there are excellent bicycle paths most of the time, and I only stopped cycling because I had to start giving lifts to exchange students and my wife.

That sounds nice. Due to where I live, any routes I would regularily take go through busy rush-hour commuting streets (with no dedicated bike lanes) where people drive like they're an ambulance with a dying patient on board. When it's 17:30 these maniacs are totally ready to kill someone just to get in front of their TV two minutes faster.

I bought a 2017 Prius Prime plug-in over the summer. It looks a little less stupid than the regular Prius, and I can go from home to my office on battery only. On longer trips it gets about 70mpg. The nice thing is in EV mode the performance is similar to a gas engine car, and doesn’t feel like a weak hybrid motor.

It has a cool space ship-like interior too with an HUD and things like that.
