2 reasons come to mind
1- Cricket is seen as elitist, it has the age old feeling of cucumber sandwiches on a saturday afternoon & posh ppl playing & being polite... utter bullshit
2- Schools no longer play cricket, and those that do rarely do it properly, there are so many less youngsters coming through playing cricket now, usually the only ones who do are like me, when its in the family, facilities are shit too, and of course the weather... stupid rain
I'd love to move to aus for the cricket for one but you won't find many teams to match u atm over 5 days
