That is so lame. I love how 4 hours is now considered an extended set, when that used to be the norm, or bare minimum.

I'm trying to be a good boy tonight, but I've decided fuck it after a few beers at the pub. Checking out Dubfire tonight for what they're promoting as an extended set. Will get four if I'm lucky lol. Not a huge fan of the layout of the venue (good sound though) either. I'm hoping he brings out a cool crowd to make up for it. Have never heard him play live and always wanted to. Fingers crossed.

Are you still going to go, just not go as hard at it?

I'm still annoyed about the time he was playing less than a kilometer from my flat and I discovered it the next morning

Yeah, I'll go, but I'm not really in the mood at the moment. Just found out a friend-half- friend is going who's a bit of a gobshite. One of those tedious people who just wise cracks constantly, mainly for his own entertainment, bulldozing over normal conversation.

Yea, I'm curious to see how comedians work material in a smaller club. This will be my first time checking it out in that context. I was never a fan of British humo(u)r, but it's grown on me. Hopefully I don't feel a huge disconnect tomorrow and understand almost everything lol.

Hopefully it won't rain too much this weekend, although we can use some rain.
Football match with the boys tomorrow, visiting parents as friends had to cancel a visit.
When it's dry we will visit "75 years of liberty – Belgium Remembers", an U.S. Army tent camp just across the border near Maastricht.

How long you been living in London? I've been there twice, staying around 2 weeks each leg. City is pricey as fuck. We always get the Oyster card first thing in order to get around at a reasonable cost and ease, otherwise cab rates would be $1000 a trip

For a little more than two years.

The cost of black cabs is borderline criminal. But they have helped me out a few times in a pinch. London is pricey, but so is New York, Los Angeles, etc. Florida is dirt cheap, and you get what you pay for. We live in a really nice area, along the river, close to the center yet far enough to enjoy a little peace and quiet. Not complaining. London has become a home I've slowly fallen in love with. And I feel that a little more every time I land at Gatwick from a trip abroad.

Oh, come on, they're not that expensive. I took two yesterday; £10 each way, that's the equivalent of 4-5 pints.

Are cabs still popular over there? The taxi industry in Australia is failing badly since Uber et al. turned up several years ago. It's kind of a shame for the drivers, and particularly for the cab owners. A taxi license used to be seen as an investment, and were worth over half a million dollars. Suddenly, they're not worth shit.
