Wow, aren't you lucky. Most girls I know like that commercial cheesy shit...mostly stuff that's eurodance. I've played some true techno for some girls and they all said it was "too hard".
I would like to share my conversion tale with you. I could be considered a conversion expert I would imagine. I have converted no less than around 10 people to trance, and me converting them has trickled down the line to other conversions. My trick?
Tiesto - Live at energy 99/00
Misja Helsloot - In Trance We Trust 1
If that doesnt work start off with some cheesey stuff.
If that doesnt work, take them out to a club where trance is gonna be played, preferably by a big name dj so the crowd is totally pumped.
If that doesnt work? give up.

Although...I got a close friend into it quite a few months ago, and she burned a CD for someone that included a few vocal, melodic, uplifting tracks on it that I gave her. And this other person went crazy over it. So now I plan on corrupting her completely.
where did you get those? i want a flutlicht sticker

Some people I know have liked uplifting volcal that I've played for them, but that's the extent of it. Most people in Ohio don't even have a CLUE what tehcno, trance, or any electronica music is. The closest they've got is songs like DJ Sammy and stuff *rolls eyes* So I've pretty much given up.
Thankfully, I have found people in my area that are into trance. It's about damn time!

I have tried to convert my friends with all types of songs. I tried to convert my brother and I gave him the most uplifting tracks with good sounding melody. I think this is the best routine.

it all depends on the person. i know a lot of hip hoppers who are also into dnb an stuff. so start them off with some trancy breaks like hybrid and the orbital. for rockers, i usually give them some epic stuff to show them that trance has the same uplifting power of something like november rain and stuff.
anyways, its good to see people are willing to introduce others to trance. we need more people like that, =P. the "trance is cool cause its so underground that only me and 10 other people like it" attitude sucks... spread the love, =P
its funny that so many people are bent on converting others to trance, but personally won't give other genres a chance. i'm not talking about anyone in this thread but just from some of the other threads i've read, people seem to expect openness from others while blowing off other genres as pure crap.

Exactly!! It's one thing to only like one genre, but to totally trash all others isn't right. There are other good genres out there. There are some bad examples in all genres, but that doesn't mean the whole genre itself isn't worth listening to
