146 isn't too fast lots of trance artists play in the 140s. Astrix has lots of tunes from 140-145.

Stuff like 170... 180, now thats fast.

yeah hes a german, the german crowd likes it hard and fast mostly.

PvD tracks aint the hardest but he manages to pull out great efforts like playing mellower tracks like Marco V and then harder tracks like Boca - Miami. All without you noticing the transition tooo much sometimes. Try some of the transitions PvD's makes on yur own decks and then you will see how good he is.

PvD's sets are full of energy and the tracks he plays always sound better @ the speed he chooses ! He's simply a GOD ! I don't think the tunes sound like happy hardcore !

Oh yeah, that was the best speed for Dreamland! But, considering that Mayday WAS something like a "rave" event, it isn't strange that pvd played @ 146 bpm!

Listen to an hour of Thunderdome - A Decade (12-10-2002).mp3 ~ 505 mbs 6 hours and then you'll think that drum 'n' bass is an opera...

I agree

Anyway, as most people mentioned in this thread, when you have a track @ 138 bpm (which most trance tracks are at that bpm) and you pitch it up @ 144 bpm, it has a great difference and it "gives you more energy". Even if you don't move, the track itself will force you to move a bit with its bassline penetrating your body!

Well, I can say that nothing irritates me more than hearing a class choon, wanting to go off to it, only to find it too slow to put any effort on your body. I like to sweat!!

I usually mix in the 144-146 region, just to keeps things nice and grooving.
