i think so...

So how does your respect for the producer change when the same exact track is on a record versus a cd? They are rewarded when you BUY the cd or the record. You can go listen to all the shitty djs with shitty music all you want, that won't stop everyone else from listening to good music--whichever format. Your respect for that person won't matter at all when the club he spun at doesn't ask him to return because the crowd hated him.

I'm so fucking sick of these threads that imply that because you use CDs that you have no talent and that the ONLY way CDDJs obtain their music is through piracy. No one ever offers a worth-while and objective piece of advice. I've tried many times before to explain why CD is a better MEDIUM for music than vinyl. You can search for them. One thread topic was named the future of vinyl. But please, please, stop these threads from continuing. They are all worthless and very few people actually learn anything from them.

first of all, did i say anything about talent? so don't give me shit until you learn to read... ugh!

second of all, about respect... please don't sit there and tell me that you would pay for CDs you play on your CD decks... especially when CD singles are soooooooooooo hard to find... you would do the most logical sickenin thing and download mp3s and burn them onto CDr's and play them, wouldnt you? YES YOU WOULD... if you don't respect and reward the producer that developed the track for you to play, you should be shot...

third of all, did you just say that CD's have better audio quality than vinyl? *holds back laughter*

and this is why these threads should be stopped
because once again, it's turning into an argument
one is not better than the other
once again, it's like comparing apples to oranges
each has it's pros and cons
it's up to personal preference
let's just leave it at that

and as for the people starting these threads,
use that thing attached to your neck... your head
ultimately the decision to spin either cds or vinyl is up to you
no one can make that for you
research (i.e. use that search button people seem to ignore) and make a decision based on what you see
there is a whole internet out there, with loads of information
you can start with a good search engine and go from there

You DID say something about talent when you said "i'd rather listen to a shit dj playing vinyl than good dj playing cdrs" You imply that that you would rather listen to a dj with no TALENT that spins vinyl than a dj WITH TALENT that spins CDs.

And Yes, I AM telling you that I DO pay for CDs, and being hard to find? Maybe I'm not looking for the same music that you are. Maybe I have better ability to find the music tha I'm looking for than you do, and just maybe you should shut the fuck when you imply that ALL djs that use cds steal their music! I am VERY against this! I actually own a small collection of vinyl and I can burn it to cd via the turntable that I OWN. This way I can burn it directly onto cd via my computer and still have the rights to spin music that I can't find on cd.

You and your attitude really sicken me. Grow the fuck up and open your mind.

This topic has indeed been covered a lot of times, and I don't want to enter any flame wars, BUT, I want to say this:

A lot of people who prefer vinyl say that they enjoy "feeling" what they're spinning. And yet, whenever it comes to actual DJ-ing, it turns out that almost all of you think that DJ's should beatmatch by pitch only, without touching the vinyl. Then how is it different from mixing CD's? You're using buttons and controls, without touching anything...

ok, if you wanna interpret that as talen, fine... i said because of respect... take it how you want...

now lets see, you say you have a better ability to find CDs because of you're not looking for the same music as I... I'm sorry, but this is a TRANCE board, is it not? I never saw anything that labeled it as hip hop or top40... although there are some releases that see CDs, thats only a small fraction, like 1% get released onto CDs... now if you weren't downloading MP3s and burning, you would have a REALLY SHITTY collection of tunes, would you not?

I am not implying that ALL do, i said MOST do, because thats the logical conslusion... if you're the one of a very small percentage of CDJs that buy vinyl and rip it and burn it to mp3 so they can play it, i apologize to you, but frankly, i think you're lying, because I have yet to meet a CDJ that actually has ANY records or legit CD releases...

I'm just going from my experience here and it tells me that you and every other CDJ shot be shot for taking the easy road out... mmmkay?

Buy cds or buy vinyls, we don't give a fuck. You mix with both, you can make the same transitions with either type. After all, mp3s are mostly for promotial use in trance music, as i think so. Now, if some people burn them on cds and start spinning, then i don't give a shit. Is it really illegal playng in a club with your cd-rs? Is it illegal spinning with your own compilations? What the fuck, who does know if the cd-rs you have burned mp3 tracks? NO ONE. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE. So, spin whatever you feel comfortable with. I think that vinyl needs more ballz for mixing and cds can help you be better at transitions or shit. That's all.

I hate it when people make a thread in this forum turn into a personal matter/argument! Knock it off dudes!

^^^ it is ilegal to play CDRs with mp3s... why? because when you pay for a vinyl record, you pay for a right to play that track, with mp3s you don't? GET IT? and I think you just proved my point with, "What the fuck, who does know if the cd-rs you have burned mp3 tracks? NO ONE. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE."
