I refute you on this. Even though the elction was dubious, an overwhelming majority of Americans actually support Bush. Obviously your perspective of the American public is skewed because you are emersed in the academic emvironment which tends to dislike Bush (hence the dislike for bush among all of us Canadian Pseudo intellectual types). Also the Campaign in Afghanistan was hugely successful. They liberated the country from the oppresseive Taliban and are trying to help develope a democratic regime there (although some may argue it's to create an American puppet state, I disagree with the idea that the US would do this without considering the interests of the Afghani's). Everyday you can read in the paper they knock down Al Queda a little bit more. THey currently have one of Bin Laden's top people in captivity for interrogation (Canada doesn't help in the war on terror as we hesitate to outlaw terrorist organizations like Hezbollah who slaughter jews and aim to wipe out western society). Alot of people criticize Bush but few offer viable alternatives.

Here's the two problems as I see it. The Islamic community around the world is not doing enough to quell the fundamentalists and help out. THey should be out there trying to stop the propaganda and hatred that the radical minority promulgate. Out of all the imams interviewed in Canada, only 2 accept that muslims were behind the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Also we are fighting terrorists in little cells that do not operate like a military entity which makes it hard for a modern military structure iike the US miilitary to take on head to head a secretive sneaky bunch of little bastards that the Islamists are. Hence why catching these people is so hard and it goes on behind the scenes.
