Capioera all the way! It's so smooth, so flowing, it's really more of a dance than a fight (from a spectator's perspective). However, on the recieving end of an experienced capoerista, it's pretty brutal. I heard once that it was developed in Brazil as a means of having street fights without actually looking like you were fighting...something about betting on street fights.

What was the name of the fighting style Bruce Lee created?

Jeet Kune Do. Gotta be careful even when picking jeet kune do schools. Many have gone astray of Bruce Lee's concepts and turned into junk schools.

France has la savate, kinda like tae kwondo
Indonesia has silat.
Kick boxing is thailand.

Capoeira was developed back in the time when African people were slaves. In order to protect themselves from their owner (?) they developed this secret fight. It was specially useful after they escaped from the lands they were working in. Whenever someone would chase them in order to punish them, they would fight back with their technique.

Slavery ended, they were bored because they didn't need to run away anymore, so they kept dancing/fighting as a form of entertainment

WHOA! Lets be clear here, the concept of Jeet Kune Do is to keep everything that is useful and getting rid of everything that is useless. There is no "right" way of teaching Jeet Kune Do technically speaking. It should also be understood that Jeet Kune Do is more of a concept than a fighting style. It is recommened that you be at least a 1st degree BB in a style before you venture off into Jeet Kune Do because you need have something before you get rid of it. Read Bruce's book "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do" for some real insight into this martial art concept.

In a way you're right. Tang Soo Do originated in Korea, but only because at some point in history (god knows when) the Japanese invaded Korea, and brought their martial art with them. Over time, after the Japanese had left Korea, the art gradually developed a style of it's own, which was slightly different from Japanese karate, such as Shotokan.

I guess it all comes down to the guy (or gal) who teaches it. A lot of people are good at their martial art, although many of them can't teach it at all. I was lucky, my instructor's both good at what he does but can also teach it very well. He's 28 I think and he's 4th Dan (Master). Christ that guy's invinsible, but to look at him you wouldn't think it.
