jp 8000, dunnow how much trance leads are based on this synth but it ll be a LOT

waldorf (micro) Q also popular (dumonde, ferry c, ....)

Novation supernova (atb,..)
Virus
Nord lead

Almost every decent virtual analog synth can do fat leads
Nothing stops you from going to your local dealer and ask a demo or try them yourself.

And if you're not having any money problems you should definately buy the alesis andromeda , real analog synthesis, 16 voices (i think) ,knob-per-function interface, LAAAAARGE ribbon controller,

for leads / pads and flat weird sounds i love our oberheim matrix-6...

Korg Prophecy also does pretty good leads for a single voice...

for good solid sub bass pulses etc...MicroMoog (wish we still had ours!!!)

though the most Synth fun that i have had in a long ass time has been with my Korg EA-1...really simple user friendly machine (and cheap!!!) i have been designing most of my lead type stuff on this box lately and allowing the beefier boards to handle...well...the beefier sounds : )...

also from past experience cheap synths + cheap effects (like guitar stomp boxes etc) can yield utter sickness...think yamaha TX81Z or Roland Juno 1 through a wah pedal / flange / and delay..mmmmm tweaky!!!

my dream toy currently is the Hartman Neuron...i am geek for neural networking...pricey but oh so tastey
