I've been thinking about Die Another Day and I've worked out that it wasn't the plot that was the problem. It was the action scenes, they were just too unbelievable. I mean Bond is pretty unbelievable (in the course of 20 movies he's probably been shot over 200,000 times and never hit) but the action scenes in DAD were particularly unbelievable. I mean, FFS, the glacier firebeam scene!!! And then there was the riding the wave to safety rubbish...

Oh well, all made up by classic Bond charm and a couple of particularly "beautiful views..."

Can't wait to the next Lord Of The Rings!!

I actually thought it was prety good apart from the riding the wave to safety scene! That was dodge! But I loved the car action scenes. OMG that was mad!
The opening scene was pretty cool, but no opening scene will ever beat the one form Tomorrow Never Dies when he is in the terrorist camp, just blowing shit up then ejects that wanker from the back seat of his plane into the one above and goes "Back Seat Driver" hahahaha

They have like trippled the amount of one liners, they are sooooooo cool!
Stupid one

When Bond first meets Jinx (Halle Berre)

Bond: "I'm an ornathologist"
Jinx: *Looks down obviously towards Bond's crotch* "Now that's a mouthful"

HAHAHAHA

Oh I love those mad jokes "Saved by the bell", "Read This" etc

And I also can;t wait for the next Lord of The Rings. I;m gonna go see it the first day. And watch the first one the night before!
Should be awsome!

Cheers dudes

Haha, yeah there were a few classic one liners in there. John Cleese is a bit of a funny bastard too.

But dowlz i agree with you, that scene where he rides like a 10,000 metre tidal wave with his parachute and some piece of metal from a ice car is a crock of shit. It looked like dodgy 70's styles surfing movies.

I haven't seen die another day so can't comment, but personally I think that James Bond films these days are more about advertising products than about entertainment... think of how many labels you saw during that movie?

I saw Spirited Away last night .. apparently the highest grossing film in Japan ever - not too bad either. Kinda weird though...
Hanging out for LOTR:TTT .. I saw Fellowship at 8am boxing day last year, and will be doing the same this year

Also heard very good things about Bowling for Columbine, a film about American paranoia by a guy called Michael Moore (they used to have his TV show "The Awful Truth" on SBS). Apparently very good.

And if the power button on your comp is pissing you off .. pop the button straight off the keyboard, it's very easy to do with a knife or a pen or something. I did the same thing with the Windows keys (the ones you press to get the start menu and stuff) - very very annoying when you're playing counter-strike and accidently hit one of them...

I've been wanting to see Spirited Away for ages. I'm glad that it's weird...I prefer movies to be that way

Bowling for Columbine seems like a brilliant film. It apparently received a 20 minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival...so it looks to be good stuff indeed!

Another film which looks promising is Frida, which is about the life of Frida Kahlo. Hmm, she's such an intriguing artist...

Adaptation and Human Nature, which are both written by the guy who did Being John Malkovich, also look rather interesting. Being John Malkovich was great, so I've got high expectations for those two movies.

The girl in Bourne Identity is Franka Potente from Run Lola Run isn't it? I haven't seen the movie, just the shorts, hollywood is a little predictable. Run Lola Run is an amazing movie and has a fantastic sound track!
