oh.. hmm.. i just did a search on google for them, and the first two links came up saying that they were belt driven. maybe they are wrong? maybe PD1, and PD-1 are not the same thing? i don't know here's the link.

im 13 and i got direct drives! (numark tt-100s)

heres what i recommend. focus all ur avaliable cash on buying tts...before u kno it you will have enough to buy decent decks

...I feel for you, particularly because I'm going through the whole agonizing process right now myself.

I had a chance to check out the brand new Numark TT-X1s today, and they are saweeeet. I was super impressed with their solid feel, and they have incredibly rapid start/stop. The store I was at is getting some TT-200s in on Monday, so I'll be heading down there again to check them out.

I'm not sure I can quite stretch my budget to a pair of Technics/Num TT-X1s, but a pair of TT-200s is in the bag, so long as I'm impressed enough with the overall build quality.

Here's a review of the TT-200s btw, the same site trashed the TT-100s a year before, but like the new 200 model.

Good luck, I know the thinking about this is starting to getting annoying for me as well.

ARGH stay the hell away from belt drives, you'll be sorry if u dont! belt drives lick balls.

if you insist on cheap decks (as did i when i got my 1st) then atleast get direct drive!! my 1st decks were stanton str8-60s, $200 USD each. for beginner tt's they were a fine investment.
