can someone define breaks for me? the last time i heard a breaks mix..i thought it sounded a lot like prog house..so whats the deal?

Breakbeats refer to the beats only, its just a different type of beat than 4 to the floor. So a breaks song could have trance melodies or a prog house atmospheric ambience.
