Let me just say that 'planning things out' is the choice of the individual. Perhaps individuals find they enjoy life better knowing what they're going to end up doing next, and expecting what is to come.
To tell someone that planning out is bad is wrong. It's different for everyone. Sure, a bit of spontaneity can help but some people just NEED that security or they'll be a mess (like me). Trust me, I've experienced before. I'm in second year university... and if you do something completely contrary to your own personality, you'll end up going paranoid. Your personal makeup is something you can't change and if you try to listen to others tell you what is good for you, then you're not doing what's best for yourself. I'm a nerd, to be honest; I love studying and reading. In my last year of high school, I took the wrong advice and stopped studying as much as I'd like to. I didn't have fun 'partying' nor did I enjoy studying anymore because of all the paranoia about what I could have done if I didn't party.
I realize that partying, clubs, etc. weren't for me and that I didn't like drugs as much as I thought I did. My girlfriend proved to me that I didn't need to take anything to enjoy life, and ever since I stopped being a pothead (been 2 years and a bit now), I've excelled at everything that's important to me (of course, everyone has other priorities).
I guess this is a totally different topic so I'll stop now, but there will probably be a guy who'll flame me and call me "lame"...
Many regards

Dude you hit the spot right on! Iam glad to see that you stopped drugs, cause I myself am not a drug addict. I think that life has many proirities. social, educational, personal and so on. Planning life is important but has to be flexible. I cannot plan my life one way and follow it like that. Sometimes new opportunities come along and things change. Just having the notion and understanding of whats going on is important.
