i have the vestax pmc270a, no problems, good mixer. What is the dip you people are talking about?

I wish i went for the pioneer 500 with 4 channel, since it would help with 2 TT and 2 CDjs.

The Dip we are talking about it in the cross fader. Try doing this. Mix two records, get the perfectly sync'd. While the cross fader is to one side turn up both of the channel faders. now bring the cross fader into the middle. Leave it sitting there a bit and dont touch and volumes or eq's. Now take the cross fader quickly to the other side, (the one you didnt have it on before:stongue. You should hear the sound get louder than it was in the middle. That is the dip. AND I HATE IT! annoyed me sooo much..

you can always mix with the volume sliders, and leave the x-fader in the middle. it produces a smoother mix anyways

I spin trance, elctro and hip hop....Trance is the only thing I use the volume faders with...since I wanna have it sounding smooth...Hip hop and elctro can sound choppy to a certein point...

Yeah true. But i find that sometimes trance needs a bit of quick cuts and change overs. Mabye because i spin harder trance. But certainly progressive trance you need the smooth faders

spend the extra $100 or so and get the djm 600. It will be worth it.
for bedroom dj'n sure u dont need the ritz but spending a extra $200 and u wont have to replace the mixer for 10 years,

I got this mixer too, Due to its dip i dont use the fader, i also dislkie the way its so delecate. If you tap the fader it flies to the end of the road and takes the full song out, i would rather it be a bit more stiff !

Not really a mint mixer but will do i suppose

I hav the 275. I love it. Apart from the djm500 and 600 i couldnt choose another mixer. I guess i never really noticed the dip coz i like to mix more aggressively, and the way to do this is leave the x-fader in the middle and use the volume faders instead

Hey,
I think the DJM 500 will do me fine!
Don't see much point in spending alot more on a 600 when most of the features i wont even use. And there is quite a difference in price as i can get the 500 alot cheaper than i can the 600, $1450 AU for the djm 500. Brand new

pretty much every mixer that doesnt have a curve adjustment or "scratch mode" has this pesky dip.

if you are familiar with it, it can be of benefit, actually... depends on your mixing style though. doesnt do me any good.

personally i prefer to mix on the levels, or with a fader in scratch mode... or more often, a combo of both these methods.
