forget about reason and other toys (fruity, ...)
buy some decent hardware synths instead (2nd hand)..
People seem to forget these days of warez that creating pro music costs money.

logic audio platinum is the pros program. like it or lump it.

Why? Because you use it?
When are people going to understand that it's not what you use, it's how you use it? Just because you obviously don't understand anything from Reason doesn't mean it sucks. It means you do.

quote:

its daunting at first cos you have to set it up to suit yourself after install but then it lets you get on with composing rather that wiring this bit to that bit and all that toyland shite!!!
even the arrange window is a pain in the arse and that should be the easy bit!!!

Er... and how does that differ from Reason then? There is no need whatsoever to do wiring in reason - it's been taken care of automatically. You CAN, however, do it manually too but it's not necessary.

quote:

do yourself a favour and fuck it off!! and remember...cubase is just as bad...too many floating/never on top windows to fuck about with!!

Do yourself a favour and stop thinking your opinion is the only right one.

quote:
youve managed a high output of tunes with reason then have you...

So people tell me. But what about you? Where can I hear your tracks?

quote:

i guarantee if you started using logic you would never turn back to anything else...

Maybe. However, that's not my point... I don't care what programs people use as long as they sound good. It's just your arrogant attitude towards programs you don't like/understand/can't use that makes me angry.
Let people use what they want and stop giving your arrogant opinions with no facts to everyone.

quote:

..and in future if your gonna call my every post 'bullshit' at the least give it more than a few words cos thats just fucking lame... tell me what is so fucking special about reason....or cubase for that matter.

You don't use Reason. That's special enough.

quote:

you seem to have some problem with me that i dont quite understand.
i try to give people sound advice based on pitfalls and obstacles that i have overcome in my own search to make things easier for myself.

It's that attitude of yours, like said above... you tell your arrogant opinions as the only right truth and slag off everyone who doesn't share your views.
You like Logic - fine, you've made your point. No need to go on about it anymore.

quote:

i didnt just slag off reason and cubase giving no reason(sic)for it.

Er... yes you did.

There, is that a better reply mr. tech god?

Actually, Mr.Mystery, that could very well be said about you.
You're pretty arrogant yourself...

Maybe, but at least I don't tell people to "fuck it off" and tell them to switch to some other software when they ask questions about something...

Matrix sequencer is the most fucked up things ive ever seen... Im not saying it in a bad way, i wanna learn it..... i know its a professional program, and I know that its better then Fruitty Loops (that im currently using, if u wanna hear my production, theres one of them in "Amateur Djs")

ok....i made a bassline.....i made an arpeggio!! yay!! .... but, it sounds worse then fruitty's standart sounds.... wth...

Where do I start? what do I do? help me out guys, im desperate to learn Reason =)))

thanx in advance

The guy is asking for help with Reason 2.0. He is not asking for which program is better. That's just obnoxious to flaunt your own preference and quasi-knowledge when you do not even know his situation. He probably does not have an Apple to run Logic on. I understand Logic PC can still be used but support for that has ended.

Here are some links that will help you with Reason -AbsurD-:
www.peff.com
www.raapie.nl
www.reasonfreaks.com
www.reasonstation.net

Books:
User's Guide to Propellerhead Reason 2

There is a "Producing Music With Reason - Tutorial CD-ROM" at Reason's website. http://www.propellerheads.se/

Good luck
