That's what I use as well.

Then I export it to excel, and copypaste to an ms access database, which is the base of the 'search engine' I made in asp.
Here is the result: My MP3 list
Far from perfect, but still working.

that looks real good bigdil! coud i have that asp file ?
or the code?

something like that is exactly what i had in mind, its not as good as i coud do with a cracked version of advanced mp3 catalog coz than i coud search both HD and mp3 cdrs at same time even searching the tags on them mp3's, but that woud work just fine.

problem with that other then the fact that its super expensive, if youre drive crashes, say goodbye to your mp3s

Take a folder full of MP3s, burn them all to CD and name the folder after the date that I burned them to CD. Also label the CDs in alphebetical order.

Example: MP3s (12.02.02) A-Br

Then I make a playlist from Winamp and save that. I find it to be a fairly effective way to catalog them.
