I think sampling, sequencing, editing and all the shit should be done using the computer... easyer and cheeper

But when it Comes 2 sounds hardware ruls.

There is no wrong way and no right way to make music. Software better? Hardware better? Who the hell cares, it's what you do with it that matters. Sooner or later people are gonna find out that its the man (woman?) behind the knobs that make a "pro" track a "pro" track. It's possible to make decent tracks using hardware. It's possible to make decent tracks using software. Choose whatever you want.
Give a real good sculptor a screwdriver and a hammer and he can build you a cool statue. Give a wanna be sculptor the most expensive sculpting kit and he can't do SHIT. How's that for wise
Some of the best music has been made with the most limiting gear (hey a TB303 was rubbish; it didn't sound like a bassguitar, and it was hard to program )

brash makes a good point about software - it has really evolved so much in the last few years. IMHO it is now possible to produce a "pro" track (as you put it) without using hardware.
