he asked what bush was trying to accomplish i posted what it is word for word, not an opinion of what someone thought. The whitehouse such a bad source of information, i was taking a drink when i read that and literally laughed so hard my Dr.Pepper went through my nose.
i truely feel sorry for the weak minded who are so easy influenced by the media. I didnt think i quoted CNN but if did the reason was most likely a point being that that CNN is the biggest anti bush news services right behind CBS.
Look the facts are simple- Saddam has broken a war ending treaty
he has refused diplomacy for 12 years ,instead he has lied and decived and tried anything and everything to not comply.
Honestly im nervous to go over there, who knows he might try to gas me and my men, urban fighting isnt my idea of the optimum situation. But something has to be done period, no one can refute that with a credible arguement.the inspectors will do their job the best they can and when Iraq gives the runaround again we will be ready to go in and do our job.
The best thing that could happen right now is for him to realize the hole he is in and take the offers to go in exile. It would save alot of lives and it might help speed of the nation building that will take place in Iraq.
I wish i could stay here and talk about these worldly topics with everyone but i will be leaving for my middle destitnation in about a week so i have alot of things to do around here.( been trying to update my music selection to bring with me, gotta love mp3's)
No matter how much we may disagree about politics we all love the one thing that brings us to this site TRANCE. No mateer how much flak i take at work for listening to it
wish me luck and a safe return ill try and visit here as much as i can.

Yes our military budget is upped, thank god did you know one of the main reason for it?? I GET A PAY RAISE!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOOOO

I don't want my money to be funneled into privitized military/defense industries. Anyway, the budget is almost as high as it was under the Reagan administration! What about education, environment, health care, research on alternative cleaner fuels, etc.

This bring up another little thing that really makes me irrate, how the public thinks it needs to know every detail that is going on during a war.

It's crucial that individuals see the direct effects of war as closely as possible. Otherwise, the populus gets desensetized to the actual meanings and consequences of "war." Face it, innocent Iraqi civilians will die in this upcoming war. What better way is there to take this humanistic aspect out, than by not discussing and presenting the details entirely?

Although, I guarantee that none of the people or friends that you know will profit as much as Bush's close friends after the corporate takeover of Iraq's oilfields.

I'm afraid I don't agree at all with that. Why ought we to focus on the "direct effects" of war when what's really most important is the big picture? What's newsworthy is not the dilapidated warehouse that's being torn down, what's newsworthy is the new hospital that might be constructed on that land.

All such imagery serves to do is evoke an emotional response from the audience. But people don't make their best decisions when they're in an emotional state of mind. They act impulsively, thinking only of the short-term.

It would be nice if the general populus was mature and rational enough to deal with the reality of the world, a world that demands great sacrifice, when progress is to be made. Unfortunately, modern man would rather try to find a way around the sacrifices that must be made - that is why our education system fails, why so many of us are overweight, and why the national debt has been so large for so long. This being the case, I don't believe that such propaganda, under the guise of important information, is relevant nor ought it be a major focus of discourse regarding a potential war with Iraq.

Oh and by the way, I love that Franklin quote, it's my personal favorite.
