Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

if you want hard music why dont you go to raves then instead they play all the harder stuff and also sets with hardcore and gabba which is alot harder than german trance!!!

djs like matrix suae hazy and a couple of others all play hard german trance along wiht other stuff. haze crystal statik and others play gabba and hardcore

also in hardcore weve had promo/paul elstak/ and neophtye(coming in march i think)

if you want even harder stuff that also includes like acid trance/tekno/hard trance and is also home gromn go to the system corrupt parties with people like mark N(possibly one of the best djs in sydney well newcastle)

plus you dont have to go to sublime hell i havnt being there in years go to icebox gas plastic shit like that... they allways play hard trance and hardhouse and shit ive heard plenty of uberdruck songs at icebox amber savage always plays them just because theres not a set where every single song is a song you like doesnt mena sydneys shit once again find out where they play the music you want!!!

and nik fish played the most uncommercial set possible at two tribes i think it was last year... full of tekno and acid trance... yeah he plays commercial stuff most times i admit! but hes not the hardest sydneys got no way!!!

and theres being heaps and heaps more then 4 djs in sydney over the past year alot more then 52 or even 104 which means you got a dj for every friday and saturday night of the year sure not all of them are hard german trance djs but theres plenty of djs who do play it in sydney to fill the void you just gotta know where to look!!!!!!!

and about your list i think overdog came out last year as well!!!

so blah to you

I don't know what your definition of Acid Trance is but from what i've heard he doesn't spin Acid Trance at all...

ahh.. raves, they are so fukn pathetic in sydney seriously. Its all happy hardcore. u trying to tell me that matrix suae haze statik or cyrstal play hardcore i think not, its all fukn happy hard. And besides i dont wanna goto a scattered rave out somwhere with a whole bunch of kids dressed in fluro colours who are 14 and already taking drugs.. i think thats dirty.. when promo came for thrillseeka that was the only time decent trax were being played at a rave.
Only maybe ctrix spins some good hardcore.

And dosent mark n play speedcore... i use to goto bloddy fist parties up at newcastle, and he use to play..
i dont know much about the newcastle scene

and yea.. its not like i go out to hear certain trax.. and if no1 plays them my night is shit.. its just that, the sets dj's are playing are getting more and more commercial..
i must admit im not a big fan of icebox. due to the place looks like a fukn sewer, and fits maybe 50 ppl, but i was there for trance generators and that was ok, and i dont really goto gas too much uk hard house, its not really hard there at all. And every set ive herd from nik fish, and ive herd alot is so fuking commercial. like for a spell i went to sublime like 4 weeks in a row, and nik fish sampled "no body listen to tekno" from emeniem 4 weeks in a row.... then i didnt go for a while i come back and hes still NO BODY LISTEN TO TEKNO... wich was quite funny. But fair enuff. hes not the hardest.. so who is one of sydneys hardest. without refrence to cheesy happy hardcore or Cheesy hardcore (wich crystal & statik play)
like honestly i'd like to go out one night and not hear the theme 10 times......
OMG can u remember the last utopia....
yea....

hehehe true true the sydney rave scene is going through a happy hard spell at the moment but thats only because all the happy hard djs are basically living over here these days cause they are sick of england and think australias scene is one of the best (plus the beaches i guess) also on top of this djs like weaver are getting sent promos of happy hard tracks in the shitloads so they would rather play tehm then some hardcore track released 3years ago

but i can guarantee you hazy plays hardcore and gabba hes a very good friend of mine and he has more crates of hardcore then anything else and its quality...

crystal and statik put on both of the thrillseekers i helped them with the first one and put on the recovery. crystal has records from anytype of hardcore that you can think of he regularily gets sent records pre release.

c-trix.... bah his sets were better when he played buzz fuzz back in 2000 but yeah he does play hard stuff now... he was moving over to hard german trance last year so dont know what hes onto now really.

i cant really say who the hardest trance dj is in sydney cause well most of the djs i know who play the hardest stuff also play teh softest stuff as well (well not really noones plays euro trance) but i was at a rave the other week in sudney in balmain and matrix played one of the hardest sets ive ever heard!

and mark n yeah he plays speedcore but also other music as well download one of his hiphop scratch mixers off the net they are fkn crazy as all fuck!!!!

and yeah that thing you said about nik fish hes gives me the shits (as much as i hate sayignthat cause its almost trendy to say you dont like him) he has soo many connections to make something of his career but hes too lazy... hehe maybe after hsi teh winner is sydney track he gave up on producing!!! man i used to do door to door sales shit and i knocked on his door once and inbetween selling him a phone line connection i asked him what he was dooing he told me he was working out the rights to songs on one of his cds 3 months later i see in the paper hes being sued for not getting permission to use some songs... example of how lazy the shite kunt is!

personally id most probably say that the hardest dj in sydney although not big at all hehehe is benje who will be playing at the next mk sydney me thinx.... but you wont wanna go there since its a rave... and on that point how do you know the best tracks in a long time were played at thrillseeker if you dont go to the others?

anys in truth i cant really say who the hardest dj is in sydney at the moment cause i havent really being out in sydney for a year now so tiems might have changed and djs moved styles... but when i left the scene was hard as all fuck!!! try acid psy trance doof parties as well but then they in the bush so...

talk to people on www.mksydney.com they will be able to tell you where allt he hard trance djs are playing

Sydneys rave scene is shit, the only reason you have happy hard is because nobody else wants it

Found this interview/article with the boys on trance.nu,thought it might be of interest:

Mad, crazy, music junkies” are just a few words producers, Dirk Nothroff and David Rzenno, use to describe themselves. Apt when you consider they’re behind unparalleled hard trance act, Überdruck. The duo are responsible for some of the most dancefloor devastating tracks of recent, with productions like ‘Now Or Never’, ‘Drugface’ and ‘Bloody Slut’ as well as remixes of Fallout Boy ‘Halluzination Generation’, Rayden ‘I Know You’re Waiting’, Organ Donors ‘Bad Karma’ and ‘Radio Waves’ and Soundgrabber ‘Acid Fighter’.

Dirk started DJing 18-years ago and has been producing his blend of “hard style and hard trance” for four now. Over the last two, Überdruck have really made their mark on the European hard trance front, skilfully merging the hard dance and trance genres, and receiving utmost admiration for it. A sound Dirk describes as “Unique and fresh. We are always looking for new sounds. I love to hear crazy electronic sounds and music,” he explains, “and love to play in front of a good crowd.”

Dirk started producing with an old Atari St computer and an Asr sampler, to help learn production. “My first productions were more trance and dance tracks,” Dirk reveals. “But we now use more and more software in the studio. There are some unbelievable machines out at the moment. The main thing is out Steinberg sequencer and a big Creamware soundcard with synthesisers. We use a 2,4er CPU computer with any software synthesisers. We have found a good mixture of hardware and software.”

The Überdruck duo hail from Germany, the origin of other leading hard trance acts like Kai Tracid and Scot Project. “Both are very good producers,” admits Dirk, “but Tracid Traxx is starting to get too commercial over the last year. Überdruck are always searching for experiments and new ways of pushing our sound. Always forward! Never backwards!” Many leading labels across Europe seem to be jumping on the commercial bandwagon right now and Dirk shares strong words on Germany falling to the same trend. “The club scene is not so big at the moment here. There is too much cheesy commercial trance from every major company. The German companies only spend time buying and selling out unique sounds. But they do nothing for the scene to build a new sound or style. We have too many shit shows on the TV, like ‘Popstars’ and ‘Superstars’. This stuff just kills club music!”

And to those out there interested in producing hard trance, “produce your own style and produce what you like,” advises Dirk. “Don’t copy other styles too much, the scene needs new inspirations and productions to live on. Don’t just look for the money. Have fun and do what you believe in…”

In 2001 the double act launched their self-titled label, Überdruck, in order to express their music style independently from others. The label has already been home to tracks like their own ‘Now Or Never’, Schalldruck ‘Turntable Junkie’ and Adam & Glund ‘Bass Core’ to name a few and Dirk promises more in the future. “We have started to release good friends of our on Überdruck and have some good cooperation’s in the pipeline. I always get good productions sent to me.” The next release, Überdruck 11, will be Mad Creatures ‘Circle of Darkness’; a collaboration between DJ Shredda and DJ The Crow. Following that will be a picture vinyl of Drugface ‘**** Master’ with new remixes from DJ The Crow and DJ Shredda. And later in the year listeners can expect new tracks from DJ The Crow, Toolboy and Überdruck.

The latest Drugface single ‘Fat As Fuck’ is out on Bulletproof at the end January. The track was originally branded under the Überdruck guise, but later signed as the follow up to the first Drugface single ‘**** Master’. “When we finished the ‘Fat As Fuck’ track we had finished the last Überdruck single ‘Bloody Slut’. I didn’t like to publish too many releases in such a short time on my label, so I sent the track to Kieran at Alpha Magic (Bulletproof) and he liked it and wanted to sign the track and put out the project. I licensed the Drugface project to Alpha Magic and we’ve started on it as a long term project – that’s the deal.”

On the remix front the pair have just completed a new Überdruck remix for Bulletproof and Dirk assures more on the horizon. “We have many enquiries at the moment, from around the world,” he reveals, “I prefer to do remixes for the people that have supported me since the beginning and we don’t like to do too many remixes. We would like to give our best in a remix.”

The new single ‘Fat As Fuck’ is out 31 January 2003 on Bulletproof.
