call up your provider and complain about slow connection speeds - do this every week for a few weeks - they'll typically just crank up the your bandwidth until you're happy.. at least that works here in so cal.

ehh i have 7 dynamic IPs and one static at my house. 1.5MB/s cable although i regularly get speeds of well over that. ahh its good to have a techno freak dad
When the guy was hooking up the cable in my room, he said the cable net can easily go 2mb.
I'm not so sure, because most of the time it's slow as fuck (well, I am sharing connection with my sisters computer through a Hub, and the whole street has cable practically)
so where can I find out what my speed is? When downloading from the hub, I can usually go about 7kbps (bleh) to around 25-30kbps (not bad). I haven't tried downloading any movies in a while cuz I hate GAYzaa, so I can't really judge through that.

Well this guy ordered it from Elisa, so I guess we can't blame Sonera for that one

Basically, if I'm not mistaken, it's the fastest speed in KBs you've ever gotten times ~8 to give you your bandwith in kbs. So if 30KBs is the fastest you've gotten your line is ~240kbs - which is shit .

Oh no, 30kbps isn't the fastest I've gotten. I can transfer stuff to my sister at speeds well over 300kbps. Granted, she's only about 10 metres away from me
30kbps is the fastest it goes on average, from the hub anyways, but on Audiogalaxy it had a slightly faster average downloading speed.
