umm...you're not seeing things. realistically, the 500 and 600 are good mixers. no question. but why pay such a high price for, overall, useless or cliched effects and a bpm counter?

and i can think of a couple other mixers more worth $300 than the djm-300.

industry standard doesn't mean shit when compared to quality. which is where the A&H xone, Rane, and even pioneer 3000 come in handy.

my $.02

Fair point. You may see the effects as useless, but i find them very handy. All i am saying the 600 is a mixer that you will always get a good price for if you decide to sell. And just one question. How much are you paying for a djm 600 where you live. Cos' here £600 pounds is what we pay. And the allen and heath xone 62 is 700 pounds. Having used the xone i can say it is complete waste of time unless installed with a proper sound system e.g. club's.

I didnt go for a pioneer djm 500 in the end....I got the pcv 275 and saved money. Now i can afford to get some ortofon concordes and a vinyl crate! =)

id say it's a really good beginner box. basic, yes... but well built and fully functional. decent quality and all.

the beat counters are kinda ghey... never really liked those on any mixer.. but then again.. they could help you in the early stages.

just dont get dependent on them!

all in all i think you'd enjoy it as a first mixer. would be much better than what I started on!

exactly the mixer i had in mind. same price range as the 300 and just a better mixer over all, imo

chesco: around here, the 600 goes for around $1000us. and yeah, i agree. the a&h is virtually on the same level as the djm-600 unless used on a very high quality soundsystem. i was just basing my opinion off of quality alone
