you have to see the big picture here: China which has bigger surplus with the US than Canada (155B CDN vs. 95B), take this number and compare it to China's and Canada's GDP you get 9% and 7.3% respectivly. Now I dare you to say that China would starve if the US stopped trading since China is "getting" more money than Canada!! (Also Japan has a bigger surplus with the US than Canada).
Your not getting the point....
Because if you where, you would realize what you just said proves the point I was making. 7 percent of Gross Domestic product of China is = to about 140 percent of Canada's...You have to figure it out with a huge mathematical equation (that's what people go to school for years to figure this out for).
Population china over 1 Billion, population of Canada 30 million, you can't compare that.
So In conclusion:
RJ was right.

I did notice (ask Ray, I told him about it) but again didn't want to start anything you take the full circle and start a new discussion.
If the States keep us alive then we won't be living much longer because their economy is in a downward spiral but surprisingly we are getting more full time jobs and earning more money and the federal government is giving our health care funding. Maybe we have been comapring Canada too much to the US but I think in the past few years, things have been getting better here and getting worse there. Weird that they just got a new President who only cares about war.

no idiot you are wrong too.
9% of China GDP and 7.3% of Canada. China's GDP is 7th in the world at 1100B USD and Canada is at 660B USD. which makes 9% of 1100 a lot bigger to 7.3 of 660B!!! I was comparing both, thats why i chose %.

One could argue he only cares about peace (pre-emptive strikes to avoid homeland war) BUT...that's another thread.
Personally, I think the U.S has shown a genuine care for making as much money as possible via doing anything that is in their power. Would anyone else do it as well? Probably, but that's not the point. I think giving them credit (like R.J did) for helping the Canadian Economy is absurd, just because we trade with them it doesn't mean we owe them anything. Let's just say NAFTA benefits some more than others.
