whoa... clarification
ok... well for the past 2 years i have been spinning what is known as the uk hard house, nu-nrg genre. and it seems like no one has hit it on the nose just yet. as Dj's go Lisa lashes, Superfast oz, morgan, fergie and all the other ones that were mentioned spin a variety of the two. Someone the classification between the two can be very blurry. But something that generally has hoovers or a sort of acid synth line can be classified under Uk hard house. The hoover is what brought around the uk hard house sound. Nu Nrg is based more upon hard hitting synths then the hoover, however nu nrg can also have the hoover intergrated into the song. The best example of a nu nrg song is probably Madam Zu - Junction 13. This is one of the clearest cut songs on this line. As for uk hard house, there are many forms of the sort. First the bouncy type of uk hard house, for example Lisa Pin Up's Another jam is a clear cut example. Darker uk hard house includes the acts of OD404 (Which superfast oz is a part of actually) and Bulldozer for example. The hoover end of uk hard house can include that of Justin Bourne - In Effect and Captain Tinribs - Save The Rave. This is a classic example of old skewl uk hard house. To make things even more intersting a genre of free form mixes some happy hardcore with nu nrg, however i am not too familier with this sub catagory. If you would like to find further information about this subject check out www.bangingtunes.com they have the sub catagories listed there and some real player examples for you to hear. Hope this clears up some things!
Long live hard house!
