Pretty stupid if you ask me, lawsuits are getting outta hand, and the precedants set by these cases are being used by cases with barely any relevance!! Fucken gay, its like that case where this mother sued a department store because she tripped over a kid and broke her ankle.

The kid was her own

I agree with pointy, and webmeister. Todays western court system and the litigous action of people, is fucked. The fact that there are people out there that go from place to place 'accidentally' falling over, or hurting them selves in an attempt to get a settlement, or see it all the way through should tell politicians something. Another thing thats also fucked, is the fact that on top of getting paid for being stupid and hurting themselves. Plaintiffs can seek unspecified amounts of money for damages and 'emotional trauma'. Seeking lost wages, medical bills (especially if those bills are for shrinks) and damages for things you actually lost is fine. But sueing for emotional trauma is total wank.

Personally I think that civil precedents such as the mcdonalds coffee incident should be reversed (or never set in the first place) and people like that be made to walk through capital cities with signs around their neck saying "im stupid". This trend of sueing everyone for everything also has the bonus of jacking up insurance premiums for everyone and some people not being able to hold events because of the extreme prices. Im not talking about events such as two tribes. But sports clubs, and public gatherings such as fairs are being hit hard. So how long before events like two tribes get canned because of the insane insurance cost?

Its a sad day when people have to go to court to settle their problems.

This kinda thing is just a poor excuse for weak people to blame others for their downfalls. The world we live in is one where we have to look out for ourselves and act accordingly, not where we take everything in and then blame someone else for the outcome. That's just wrong in my opinion, but i suppose thats where character lies....

I'm feeling down, you're all gonna get sued for emotional trauma.

does that explain why there are so many guys with man boobs?

someone gave me a nice anecdote (i think thats the correct term) about the "age of litigation". he compared it to the classroom and how if someone talked, the whole class had to stay back. repeating what escee said we suffer because of stupid asses who drink coffee while they drive. i swear the world is full of stupid #@%*'s like that.
