now that is an interesting point and does make my psyche hungry. it is specifically aching for people to start realizing that the united states is one of the gravest abusers of human rights out there. it is not obvious unless you read a fair amount of news from sources outside the US, but our involvement in other countries has led to the death of so many people itd be contrived to put a number on it. nicaragua, sierra leone, the phillipines, sudan, and iraq ten years ago - are just a small sampling of the places we have done ridiculous things from propping up oppresive regimes that suited our desires to outright massacring of our own.

if humanitarian rights were a real concern of the US, ... a lot of things would be different.

might be a mistake to put a lot of effort into political arguments here but i can't help it on this topic.
