We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

What do you call tracks off the Nucleuz and Tinrib label? Also, what do you classify as hard trance? Dumonde and Scott Project? |
hard trance, is basically trance, but with rougher harder riffs and melodies in it, and also usually has an offset bass, or just a harder kick.
hardstyle, is sorta similar to hard trance, only the bass lines are harder and rougher, and more often than not, they dont sound trancey, the riffs and melodies dont sound trancey at all. although there are a few hardstyle tracks that do have slight hard trance elements. i know this aint a genre, but it sorta sounds like nu nrg hardstyle. ill post sum tracks when i thinkk of sum that are like this
tracks off of the nukleuz label, are or were usually/mainly uk hardhouse, but now hard house has changed to uk hard dance, which is hard house thats trying to be hard trance, but imo, comes nowhere near as good.

lol, ill save you a flaming mate.... apparently scot p had nuthing to with banginglobe...
i personally think there must have been a falling out over what label it should be released on..... my theory is.. the version you used to hear on sets this time last year, WAS scot p's mix.... and my theory is, scot wanted it to be released on druck recs, or overdose, but yoji wanted it out on hellhouse, and they fell out about it..... so yoji ripped scot p's version off, changed a few sounds, and brought it out on hellhouse.
thats my theory, it didnt come out on druck records too did it?...... i dunno cos i didnt buy the fucking tinny sounding tacky version that got released, with the diaboloically poor, ferry mix

You must agree though Scot Project's older stuff was harder than stuff from technoboy?

"trying to be hardtrance" lol
you are right hehe about the change
in
usa, australia, uk, etc. you can usually find
them calling "hardstyle" => "harddance"
and euro calls hardstyle => hardstyle
-----------
*** Hard-Dance *** Is what it says it is...abit harder ends of dance music, usually around +140BPM.
-----------
Even tho DANCE has an established genre on its OWN!
DANCE is usually found as board range of electronic music, as often youll see in some countrys, trance = dance, techno = dance, even tho its not the same. Still everything simular sounding to "dance music" gets labeled as DANCE! its what is *known best* at the time.
e.g A country like AUSTRALIA!
And in other countries you'll see the genre "TECHNO" having trance, hardhouse, hardtrance, nrg, etc....and nearly all electronic music labeled under techno.
but now they are starting to label it correctly TRANCE = TRANCE, HARDHOUSE = HARDHOUSE etc..etc.. getting the BIG picture nowdays, which is a good thing.
Mainly uneducated people label it as dance, techno etc.. or sometimes just for marketting purposes. that sounds rather insulting to techno, dance fans . As DANCE, and techno has a genre of its own and so does techno.
but usually its incorrectly labeled under these genres because its something fairly new such as "HARDSTYLE" new to many.
So when a genre isn't yet so established in that country or not many people know about it, it usually gets placed in the wrong piles with an already established genre.
**hard house*** started in about 1995 (the year of hardcore fever) when everything likes to get harder at that stage Hardhouse consist of a harder bassline, oldschool samples, usually 140 to 145BPM!.
---------------
**| quote: | | Stanza Can someone tell me the difference between hardstyle and hardtrance?? |
Hardstyle simular to HARDhouse, with techno sounding (but not repetitive as techno, Its more deeper, darker, and usually faster, with some elements of hardtrance/hardcore, but not as hard as hardcore. *still follow the same 4/4 structure.
HARDTRANCE
started with euro hardtrance, usually has *nice* melodic, female vocals(hardstyle doesn't consist of this but rather use small samples - old school samples, and harder than hardtrance)
euro hardtrance is very uplifting, and harder, heavier bassline than the normal euro trance (uplifting trance). sometimes these Big rifts, breakdowns -> female vocals. Is often known as CHEESy trance!
euro hardtrance = 140-145BPM.
want more cheese? there is also commerical hardtrance
Starsplash, Adrima likes to turn old school happyhardcore cheese into hardtrance, track such as "i can't stop raving" "in your arms"
etc.. ** happyhardcore is what the genre says its happy uplifting elements + hardcore, its mainly music for 14 to 18 years old.
you also get other forms of euro hardtrance labeled as "HARDTRANCE"
with the big rifts but without so much uplifting breakdowns->female vocal, and usually not so "euphoric". it's also faster at 145 to 150bpm. harder and abit harder than euro hardtrance. also darker deeper.
summary hardstyle is harder than hardtrance but softer than hardcore.
i wish i can put up some samples,
but if you interested in finding out what is hardstyle
look for artist such as
Technoboy, Luna dana, Max B. Grant, k-traxx and this MAN ISAAC
and what nukez and other people here have already mensioned.
HARDTRANCE Jam-x & De Leon aka DuMonde, Cosmic Gate, DJ SCOT Project, Flutlicht, SHOKK, etc..
---------------------------------------------------------------------
its ok if many people gets abit confused at times, as at one point in my life i was once confused myself. After a few years its all good - ALSO REMEMBER I AM NOT GOD OF HARDSTYLE or a pro not yet i need many years experences in this field. hardtrance is what i do.
