Assuming he's staying at a motel/hotel in the first place,
A. He spends 40 bucks at a motel in tampa/orlando, wakes up, and he'll arrive in Miami with atleast half a day left.
Or
B. He could take the long stretch to Miami, spend the same amount of cash that night for a motel, and have about a 4 hour morning advantage (since he wont have to take the 3+ hour drive from tampa/orlando). But I can assure you he'll be sleeping those 4 hours after 18+ hours the night before on the road.
So technically, he's really not saving any time or money.
Eitherway, 18 hours gets hectic, and the last stretch is the worst part. I don't recommend taking any uppers to save 4 measly hours. It is a road trip, enjoy it, relax, its not a race against time, and best of all, its no more cash out of your pocket than if you were to stay in a hotel in miami the same night. No point in gambling if you're not going to win time or money.
