they havent changed styles since then but imo they have changed their styles drastically prior to that release. they use to have darker elements in their music since the days of Silent Cry, Forever Young, Neverending Melody, etc. i miss the old Fire & Ice they use to release quality stuff but now their stuff are far more fluffier and light. they are still good but... i like their older stuff alot better. their remixes have always had a different sound compared to their own productions. man i miss their old style...
Push's style has changed alot too imo.. they use to have the darker edgier sound as well but since The Legacy... i dunno, its lacking.. just my opinion though. :-/

exactly right about fire and ice, their last tow releases were missing the quality of the old ones, it just seemed like cookie cutter shit, their old style rocked. i am a huge fire and ice fan, but i didnt like the last two release. either way, they rock, jurgen is a cool guy, and i never talked to airwave, but he does quality stuff

When you talk about the last two releases I presume you mean Heart & Mind / San Antonio and Close To Me. Well, I think Heart & Mind fits the description you gave perfectly -- cookie cutter trance with rather irritating stabby synths. However, I'd say San Antonio is up there with their best work. Pure trance, although admittely somewhat different from their old stuff. I have mixed feelings about Close To Me. I like the track, but I can't help but feel doing a vocal track was sort of a cop-out, considering they hadn't done any vocal productions in the past and vocals are so popular these days. And I guess there's nothing wrong with trying to put out more commercially accessible records, after all, popularity can only lead to record sales and perhaps XTC could have done with a few more of those.... On a side note, I think DJ Fire's mix of Close To Me was highly overlooked and easily beats the original. It'll be interesting, if nothing else, to see what happens in the future.
