| quote: | | I for one am a suporter of war with Irag, I believe it will be the only way to put the middle east to rest. If we dont do something now it will eventually escalate again and again. A man who kills his own people will never take resolve in peace. And no matter how many people say that we should have world peace, i doubt it will not come for a very long time. It is human nature to want to be on top. |
Saddam himself is not a major problem in middle east. The whole area is totally fucked up. You really can't single out a specific country that is more problematic than the other. Getting involved in that part of the world only causes harm for the country that tries it. But the problem about upcoming war is that it is a preventive war, and a preventive war can not be justified because there is no actual cause for it.
| quote: | | What makes everyone believe that all of a sudden its all just gonna stop....Did you know in palestine they do not reconize Isreal as a country in their textbooks and what not, they show it all to be palenstine. And im sure they are not the only ones who do this. How can they even be held responsible? THey dont even know any better, from the time the born they are taught that way. How can we ever expect peace with out proper education. |
You yourself say that palestinians are a problem also. I'll ad to that Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, Syria...
Iraq is the only secular country in the region. The other ones are usually even worse than Iraq is.
| quote: | | Not to mention until we have one universal religion we won't have world peace. Relegion plays such a important role, religion has caused wars for 1000's of years. The catholics used it as aa scapegoat to justify their crusades. |
It's not like catholics or muslims never fought against each other. A universal religion wouldn't stop wars, it would only decrease their number. Still though, religion offers only illusionary security and causes more harm than good and should be abandoned.
| quote: | | Kosovo maybe??? I don't know that we got anything out of it (like oil). Maybe you don't remember those pictures of those skeleton people behind the barb-wire fences, but I do. Iraq is not the same thing @ all though. |
Kosovo was more because of political reasons. And those pictures you mention are from Bosnia, not from kosovo.
PS. You should post stuff like this in political forum. That's what it's for, right? If you checked, you'd see about 10 currently active threads on Iraq there.
