How on earth can they blow out? You must have been blasting the volume through the roof day in day out..

Don't get V700s; I have them and ShadySlim is absolutely spot on with his comments.

For that matter, don't get any of the MDR-VTW*TDJ (aka the MDR-VCRAPDJ) series 'phones.

I always thought the v700s were the industry standard

How does the Pioneer hdj1000 ( or whatever , you know the one I mean, the new one ) compare?

Well, the V700's seem to be the so-called 'industry standard', when they really aren't. You see, all those big-name DJs who use the V700 actually got paid big bucks by Sony Electronics to use those 'phones, regardless of how crappy and overpriced they really are.

Yeah, and if you have noticed the 700s are really uncomfortable after wearing them for more than 5 mins.

I recently heard great stuff about the BEYERDYNAMIC DT770 Pro.
I havnt heard them yet, but appearently they are the king of Bass, while still holding a nice EQ range and overall quality.

And they look really comfortable, with those velour pads

I'll probably pick up a pair in a few months.
