Wow - someone moving *TO* Buffalo.... that's a first... Oh well, 658 on Saturday nites (Theater District) has trance and breaks and on Thursday nites has jungle, Utopia (Chippewa) has some trance on occasion - well when Nik is doing his job (he'll play good stuff too - I believe I have requested for him to play Tiesto and he did). Buffalo is mostly a bar/pop music place - if you're into bars the bar scene is really good (open till 4 AM)

Glad to see some TA's coming to my club. Toronto is my favorite place but recently I have been afraid to go to Toronto with the SARS situation, so if any of you feel the same way and need a break from Toronto stop on down, I promise I won't disapoint you, got tons of new tunes and promo's to play so lets get the spring and summer started !!!

Personally i think it's overhype gone awry. To me an epidemic is when thousands of perfectly healthy people get sick and die a quick but painful death while bleeding from every orifice. This is instead a flu like virus that affects 200 people in a city of 6 million and kills 15 old people. I think influenza and pneumonia has a greater death rate! Most people who get SARS recover, only the very old and those with complications seem to be dying (which is the exact same outcome of common pneumonia) This is just another media circus event just like the half truths and misquotes of the "rave epidemic" a few years ago. If we listed daily death rates from pneumonia, car accidents, and other common fatalities with such vigour we'd never leave home! I am more worried about west nile because mosquitos are everywhere and this disease really does cut down healthy young people in their prime. The sad part is that tourism, asian business and Toronto's entertainment facilities are suffering needlessly.

Despite what the "experts" are saying it is my personal belief that there is absolutely no reason not to come to Toronto. The fear has been whipped up by the media preying on ignorance and misinformation as far as i am concerned. My Buffalo friends are still coming to Toronto despite the unfounded hype.

Well I used to also believe that the media is hyping this SARS situation up, but when major league baseball and the "World" health organization come out and make statements to "avoid any unnessecary travel to the GTO" I think I would rather be safe than sorry. Just my 2 cents, but I am going through Toronto withdrawl don't get me wrong. I can't go shopping for clothes or even check out some new vinyl to spin. Very sad indeed, lets hope for some kind of treatment or cure ASAP.

I didn't know that people here listen to trance music, so far i know most of them are really into hip hop.

Just want to know more information about local events.

there used to be some house/techno-ish/prog (a trance song here and there) played on fri @ the red room - which was about as close as you could get....every now and then you might run into something...Sphere used to have some events - Mark oliver came down from Toronto, Marco V played there... you'd have to check their calendar (sphere ) trance isn't very big there at all...(i've moved since then...so not sure if anything has changed)...

your best bet is to head an hour and a half north to Toronto - there's numerous clubs: Guvernment (spin sat's are trance nites with Mark Oliver - who is awesome and sometimes another DJ - Marco V, scott Bond, etc) Systemsound bar - breathe fridays = trance, BOA, etc...

I know mauro Piccotto, Armin Van buuren, and ferry corsten all have upcoming dates in Toronto.

Its your best bet and a great place to party! (we even make the trip up from NC now and then to visit!)
