-Exactly, and because of things like that the US shoudlnt be in saying EVIDENCE FOR WAR, or attack right away.. see, imagine the U.S. attacks and its on war, and then they find that it was all fake, and thousands of people die, U.S. looses money. Nations cant just go and shove off evidence they receive. And the U.N. clearly said that any evidence that Powell showed (the tapes and pictures) must be thoroughly examined, which NOW I see it as a very good thing to do.. and I think that any evidence that the U.S. proofs to have gotten and show, needs to be examined as well, before going to war, you cant just go to war because some evidence was given jsut a day or two days, and declare war because of it. Here we see that a WAR with Iraq needs more time, and whatever evidence the U.S. needs to show it and prove it, besides of been examined. |
Yes but this evidence is not the sole pretext for the reasons to use force. It's one iota of evidence of Iraq's non compliance. Fine it's dismissed as a forgery but there are still other legitimate reasons in place. Look, Iraq was obligated to provide a FULL weapons disclosure in a report in December ... remember that? They were to outline EVERYTHING in their weapons arsenal from banned weapons to biological and chemical weapons stock. They CLEARLY did not disclose everything since banned weapons are CURRENTELY being discovered! So right then and there you can say that they failed to comply fully with UN inspections! Everybody is saying that it's ok because they are dismantling those weapons now that they were discovered but it's NOT! It's ridiculous that we're operating under the assumption that they are complying as long as they destroy everything that we FIND! Now I hear that they will issue an additional report detailing their chemical/biological weapons status. WHY WASN'T THIS INCLUDED IN THE INITIAL REPORT???? They are playing games with us and everybody is sanctioning their bullshit. You can keep saying that ohhh these missiles that were recentely found don't pose MUCH of a threat but for everything that is discovered, what is still laying in hiding???
Evidence for this war has been accumulating over the past 12 YEARS not the past 6 months. It's absolutely ridiculous that over this period of time Iraq has never FULLY complied with UN inspections. The UN should be ashamed that a resolution established in 1991 has YET to be fully satisfied in 2003.
