Re: Roll Call: Recently broken up

My bf recently broke up with me and I have been consoled by several other people in the same situation. And then someone said that it is very common this time of year. So who is in the same boat as me? It is so hard.... |
id agree that 'time is the healer' so to speak. i personally would just try to look at it as an experience to learn from. and i dont mean in the sense of how to avoid it in the future, but to learn something from your relationships in general. if there is nothing to take away after significant time spent with someone, then whats the point? everything (almost) is about progressing, developing, growing as a person, etc. and i find that most-present in relationships.
so just look back and capture the good things, and what they taught you. of course it doesn't hurt to think about how to avoid the low-points in the future, but we're focusing on positive here...
and also, post-breakup, or any lonely time really, is a chance to be with yourself and sort of 'work on' yourself - stupid as that sounds. i know i go through periods of loneliness (just like tomcraft) but you gotta try to use that time to focus on yourself, things that make you happy, or work, or whatever else you gotta do on your path.
key is (according to me, not everyone) : you gotta be happy with yourself and by yourself before you can truly and healthily get really close to other people and allow your happiness to come from them. cause when they're gone, you need to stay afloat.
good luck, i gotta get back to this mountain of work in 'my path'
