They oversimplify the nature of bias in the human mind by attempting to evaluate it by mere linguistic/pictoral associations. "Bias" is not merely a proclivity to associate one thing with another (which is all these tests evaluate).

The tests are fine for establishing the existence of certain types of associations. However, to say they adequately evaluate a complex phenomenon such as bias would be to far overstate the scope of that which they evaluate.
