the new ones are ok in animation but they are less violent and directed more at children under age 7


as for like mangas.. i liked Macross plus, the original macross (the movies too ).. guyver was awesome.. and umm many more.. usually the ones with cool robots

cowboy bebop? i never was interested in it 'cus i thought it was a character from Spongebob Squarepants. at least, that's what i was told. i'll see if i can rent it today

I can't belive no one has mentioned Ninja Scroll!!! The battle with the rock guy is like the most amazing thing i have ever seen. Or the blind samurai, Or the death of the "bee" man, oh man, the whole thing is just amazing (as is the animation). i urge anyone who has not seen it to go watch it right away.
Other great ones that i have seen are Vampire Hunter D and Blood: the last Vampire (which has AMAZING animation btw)

Oh ya, for more "intelligent","high budget" type shit, check out anything by Hayao Miyazaki. Princess Mononoke is just awsome, and Spirited away. i just watched it and it is fuckin unbelievable (it just won the "Best Animated Movie" Oscar btw)

Anyways there you go, hope this helps. Anything i mentioned is gold but see Ninja Scroll, you wont be dissapointed.

i liked Ghost in the Shell. I never understood about the elevator and the timing stuff. right over my head
Ninja Scroll was pretty good. Lots of blood and gore, but at least it came with a story too. ninja star attack!
Princess Mononoke. i was able to see a pre-screening of it down here in San Diego and i just don't see what the buzz was all about. it bored me like DAMN.
Ranma = BLEH!
Street fighter was great tho. two thumbs up!
