You know what sucks for me? my work shares an alley with the hospital that's housing the majority of the SARS stuff, and I have to walk through it a million times a day. I feel like I should hold my breath, and run.

This SARS outbreak shows how volnurable we all are.. It's enough to invent a virus that's very contagious, and people who get sick have a 70-100% chance to die after two weeks of contraction and we'll get the end of the world.

I just read the following article in Toronto Star:

Why Toronto was hit so badly??

Now just imagine if the person from HK who was sick, didn't immediately go to the hospital, but instead worked for a day or two at some fast food chain or a restaurant(or in fact any place where one has to deal with customers). If that was the case, we'd be in far deeper shit than we are now. I think this episode will completely change our perspective on our safety. IMHO, Sept 11 is nothing compared to this. Of course there aren't as many deaths yet(and I hope there won't be), but the consequences could be much more devastating.
