Sorry about the extra x it was an accident. But it wasn't a law. It was a decision to rename the fries. And two representatives is very different from saying American governors. The latter is implying a changing of laws across multiple states.

But you're correct hte rescindation (word?) of Chirac's invitation is silly. But congressman and governors pput forth crazy resolutions all the time. IT's a political attention grabber. 99% of the time, these things fail to pass the vote.

i find it rediculous on both sides. People should realize what they are putting on the line by such extreme action. I am neither american nor french, but such acts of hate are retarded, as they are putting years of cooperation on the line.

don't people understand what they stand to loose if a simple disagreement like this destroys the alliances that have been built up over the past 50+ years?

I mean, people will be smart enough to realize that there are people in france who agree with the decision to go to war, just in the same way as there are people (americans) in the USA, who do not want this war.


oh well.. some people (on BOTH sides of the atlantic) need to learn that the world does not end at their city limits.

This is not the reason they hate the French. After all, why do the Americans not hate the Russians and the Germans with the same vigour?

They see the French as simply being anti-american, not anti-war. They make this accusation by the wide range of influence the French exerted on other countries in the UN to vote anti-war, countries that would probably not care one way or the other (like the 3 african nations on the Security Council). And so far the French still threatening not to "lift sanctions" once the USA liberates Iraq clearly seems to conclude with American thought that indeed the French are anti-Amrican.

Afterall the USA did agree to 1441 because the French said they would be committed to the second war resolution if the USA would pass the first. They were markably the first to turn on their word, and lead the rise of turning everyone else against their word and positions.

Their support for a cause they don't really believe in, yet the power they exert to do everything in their power to sabatoge the US's best efforts in settling the conflict is what has angered so many Americans! This is a rift the French have created by their stances.
