you can rip cds as wav files. just put it in the recorder and bring up the tracks on the screen, highlight all the tracks you want,and right click on it, then you can select an option to save track or something, i dont remember,i dont have the program on my computer, but ya, and i think initially, it is set to save as mp3, but you can change it to wav

Yes, your assumptions are correct. I am running Windows ME, and my burner is not faster than 12x. I am using CDex, everything works great.
